(Los Angeles, California, March 10, 2016) Determined to explore new markets to sell their services, 20 clinics and hospitals in El Salvador have set their sights on American cities with higher concentrations of Salvadorans.

The initiative called Medical Tourism Network aims to capture the consumption of medical services by 10% of the nearly 3 million Salvadorans living in the United States.

Dr. Jose Eduardo Duarte, owner of Lourdes Medical Center, who is the promoter of the medical tourism group, emphasizes that if all efforts are united and working as a team, medical tourism could generate annually $ 100 million in the medium term.

Dr. Duarte highlights some of the country’s advantages over other medical tourism destinations that could attract Salvadorans as family ties, proximity to the United States, the connectivity of flights to El Salvador; low treatment costs compared to other countries in the region; clinical controls and health standards Ministry of Health and the new clinic rules of medical tourism that operates in El Salvador.
